Summarize this insight with:

1 The Vision

It began with a simple idea: what if families could already feel the warmth of Center Parcs before they ever arrived?

What if a mother in Paris, a couple in Hamburg, or a family in Ghent could wander through forests, cross a bridge over the lake, hear the soft echo of the Market Dome and smell the imaginary pine before clicking “Book now”?

That question became a vision - and ultimately, the world’s largest virtual-tour experience.
Twenty-eight parks. More than 3000 scenes. Thousands of stories captured in a single immersive network that now connects every Center Parcs in Europe.

At Poppr, we believe virtual tours should do more than show a place; they should transfer emotion.
We’ve spent more than two decades chasing that feeling - from the early 360° experiments of our founder Yvan, who built homemade drones before the word even existed, to today’s seamless immersive ecosystems that blend design, storytelling, and measurable conversion.

When we step into a project, we don’t arrive with a checklist; we arrive with curiosity and empathy.
We listen to what a brand stands for, and then we translate that DNA into light, rhythm, and texture.
Because technology alone doesn’t sell experiences - emotion does.

“We don’t make 360 photos,” we often say. “We build immersive websites - worlds that people want to explore, trust and return to.”

Every pixel we craft is a promise: that curiosity will turn into comfort, and comfort into conversion.
That is why hospitality marketing has become one of our strongest domains - because hospitality, at its core, is about how you make people feel.

A legacy of craft

Poppr’s story is a story of craft.
Back when 360° cameras were rare curiosities, Yvan was already soldering parts, building waterproof housings and attaching cameras to kites.
What began as passion turned into precision: a belief that beauty lives in detail.

Steven brought another dimension - an ability to enter hyper-focus, absorbing the essence of a brand in hours and translating it into intuitive digital journeys.
Together we shaped a philosophy that drives every project: technological excellence in service of human connection.

Today, that philosophy echoes through the forests, domes and cottages of Center Parcs.
Each tour is a living ecosystem - a place where storytelling, analytics and conversion live side by side.
Our goal has never been to digitise reality, but to re-humanise technology.

We believe immersive experiences can reconnect people with nature, with each other, and with themselves.

Takeaway: Great virtual tours don’t copy reality - they capture its emotion and make it measurable.

2 The Birth of a Giant

The partnership began in 2015, when we met the Center Parcs content team to discuss an ambitious idea:
Could virtual tours replace existing surpass traditional photos and videos?
Could it make people feel a holiday before booking it?

At the time, few in hospitality marketing believed it was possible.
Most brands were investing in 360-video gimmicks or flat image galleries.
We proposed something radical - a modular virtual-tour website built like a living organism: aerial photos to give perspective, ground-level panoramas for immersion, 360-videos for motion, and 3D renders for spaces not yet built.
A digital ecosystem that could evolve with every season.

Center Parcs believed instantly.
They saw beyond the novelty; they saw potential.
While other resorts opted for short-term campaigns, Center Parcs invested in a scalable immersive strategy.
That decision changed both our companies.

From one park to twenty-eight

We started with Le Bois-aux-Daims in France - the very first park.
The tour was shot in 2015 and, astonishingly, still looks brand new ten years later.
Its longevity became symbolic of what quality means at Poppr.

From that first success, the project grew organically.
Each year new parks joined: Belgian lakes, German forests, Dutch coasts, even the mountains of Denmark.
Today every single Center Parcs in Europe has its own immersive tour - all interconnected through the same visual language and analytics backbone.

Club Med or Center Parcs - Two Paths

At the same time, another global brand, Club Med, chose a different road - pure 360-video storytelling.
It looked spectacular for a season, but videos aged quickly, required heavy budgets to update and couldn’t deliver measurable data.
Center Parcs, by contrast, bet on the hybrid tour architecture - modular, updatable, analytical.
Ten years later, their decision still pays off.

Scaling without losing soul

As the network expanded to 28 parks and more than 3000 scenes, the challenge became consistency.
Every image had to share the same warmth and colour science, yet reflect its own character.
We built unified camera profiles, UX templates and a central metadata system - but we never automated emotion.
Each scene is still hand-stitched, manually colour-graded, and curated with an editor’s eye.

Our photographers worked dawn to dusk - underwater, with drones, on skis, with cables, from boats, cars and bikes.
We used models and guests alike, capturing authentic human presence: a laugh in the Market Dome, a splash in the wild-water river, a child feeding goats at the petting zoo.
Because real emotion doesn’t need direction; it needs presence.

“When you give people real stories to explore,” Steven explains, “they spend four times longer with your brand - and they remember how it made them feel.”

The first data confirmed it.
Session durations multiplied, booking values rose, and management realised something profound: an immersive website can be a business engine.

Takeaway: The world’s largest virtual tour was born not from technology, but from trust - and from a shared belief that emotion drives every great booking decision.

3 How We Built the World’s Largest Virtual Tour

When people hear “virtual tour,” they imagine a handful of panoramic photos stitched together.
What we built for Center Parcs Europe is something entirely different - a continent-wide immersive infrastructure that behaves like a living digital organism.

3.1 Hardware that Sees Everything

Every scene starts with a Nikon D850, chosen for its dynamic range and colour fidelity.
Each panorama is composed of dozens (often more than 100) of high-resolution shots that we stitch together by hand.
The final image reaches an astonishing 20.000 × 10.000 pixels - 200 megapixels of pure detail.

At that scale you can print the image 17 metres wide without a hint of pixelation.
When the Wild Water River at Le Bois-Francs was temporarily closed for renovation, Center Parcs printed one of our 360° images as a 17-metre backdrop to keep the atmosphere alive - a surreal moment where the virtual replaced reality.

Our drones - mostly DJI and Quadrones - fly low and quiet above lakes and forests, equipped with custom gimbals that stabilise every frame.
For restricted zones we switch to 20-metre telescopic rigs, giving an aerial perspective without ever leaving the ground.
Nothing is automated; every click is a decision.

“Each panorama takes about an hour of manual work,” says Yvan. “There’s no shortcut to perfection.

3.2 Software Built from Scratch

We don’t rely on off-the-shelf frameworks like Matterport or 3DVista.
Our team writes its own code - open-source foundations combined with custom programming that lets us control every pixel and every byte.

This custom viewer is self-hosted for maximum speed and security.
It supports progressive image loading, CDN caching and adaptive bitrate logic so that a 200-megapixel image feels instantaneous on any device.

Beneath the visuals lies an AI-readable metadata layer.
Every scene is treated as a page: the living-room of a cottage, the main pool of an Aquamundo, the terrace of a restaurant.
Each page carries structured metadata - titles, descriptions, schema tags - so that search engines and analytics tools can understand what happens inside the experience.
It’s what makes our tours SEO-ready and AI-discoverable.

3.3 The Aerial Street View Experiment

Innovation never stops at Poppr.
At Le Trois Forêts, the largest Center Parcs in Europe, we once attempted an aerial Street View - a Google-style path through the air.
For two days drones mapped winding roads, lakes and cottages from above, pushing our hardware and nerves to their limits.
In the end we chose not to publish it - the quality didn’t meet our standards - but the knowledge shaped later breakthroughs in stabilisation and navigation.

“We’re not afraid to try and fail,” Steven says. “That’s how you discover what’s possible.”

3.4 Consistency Across 28 Parks

Scaling a project of this magnitude demanded discipline.
We built unified camera profiles and colour-grading LUTs so that a pine tree in Belgium looked identical to a pine tree in Germany.
UX templates ensured visitors always knew how to move, even when the environment changed from alpine hills to coastal dunes.

A shared metadata system connected every park to the same analytics engine.
We can compare how the Aqua Mundo in the Netherlands performs against the one in France, or which type of cottage photo converts best across markets.
It’s not just content; it’s comparative intelligence.

3.5 Integrations That Multiply Value

Because our 360° assets are ultra-sharp, Center Parcs repurposes them everywhere - in brochures, billboards, email campaigns and print.
A single shoot produces hundreds of usable visuals, effectively creating a visual content bank.

Each scene is also prepared for Facebook 360 and Google Street View.
When a 360° image appears on mobile Facebook feeds it auto-rotates, catching attention instantly.
On Google My Business every park features these same high-res panoramas, while the Street View integration completes the digital circle.

Poppr has been an official Google Street View Partner for more than twelve years - so every park in Europe is mapped not only virtually but publicly.

3.6 Tracking and Data - The Science Behind Emotion

All tours are wired with Google Tag Manager and Analytics 4, allowing us to measure how people interact.
Because the tours link directly to Center Parcs’ booking module, we can see real behaviour:
how long people stay, how fast they decide, what they choose after exploring a specific scene.

That data proved what intuition already told us - immersion drives conversion.

Each metric tells the same story: visitors spend longer, explore deeper, and invest more.
Every extra minute inside a virtual tour translates into emotional confidence - and confidence is the real currency of hospitality marketing.

3.7 Craft That Lasts Decades

Quality is the reason these tours age so gracefully.
The first one, Le Bois-aux-Daims (2015), still looks like it was shot yesterday.
Most people couldn’t tell it apart from the tours we delivered this year.
That’s why we design for a twenty-year lifespan.
Where a conventional website struggles to survive five years, our immersive environments continue to deliver revenue, engagement and brand equity for decades.

3.8 Why It Matters

For Center Parcs, this isn’t just a digital showcase; it’s a business engine.
Every image is a sales conversation, every click a micro-moment of trust.
The analytics reveal not only numbers but stories: parents lingering over the slides of the Aquamundo, couples exploring spa cottages, families revisiting parks they already booked.

The tours turn browsers into believers, and believers into guests.
They transform a marketing cost into an asset that pays back hundreds of times over its lifetime.

“People don’t just look,” Steven says. “They feel - and when they feel, they book.”

Takeaway: The world’s largest virtual-tour network works because technology and tenderness share the same frame; every pixel earns its place by turning curiosity into conversion.

4 Beyond the Tour - How Center Parcs Uses Poppr’s Content Across Every Channel

When a project grows beyond its frame, you know it has become something larger than itself.
Our collaboration with Center Parcs Europe was never meant to stop at virtual tours; it evolved into an entire ecosystem of immersive storytelling that fuels marketing, sales, and brand love across every touchpoint.

4.1 From Virtual Tour to Virtual Reality

A few years after the first tours went live, Center Parcs organised a major press conference in Paris.
They wanted to make journalists feel the new parks without leaving the room.
So we curated a “best-of” from all 28 parks - the gorgeous lake of Lac d’Ailette, the dunes of De Haan, the forests of Le Bois-aux-Daims - and turned it into a full Virtual Reality experience.

We pre-loaded the VR files onto headsets and shipped them to Paris.
When the press slipped on the goggles, the room filled with gasps and laughter.
Reporters could wander through forests, glide over lakes, and stand beneath the glass domes as birds circled above them.

“It was one of those moments,” Steven recalls, “when technology disappears and emotion takes over. That’s the power of immersion.”

The event was a success, but more importantly, it showed Center Parcs how flexible their immersive content could be.
A single production had become a tool for PR, brand activation, and sales enablement all at once.

4.2 Omnichannel by Nature

Our 360° assets now live far beyond the website.
They flow through every part of Center Parcs’ communication:

  • Web & mobile: every park homepage features the 360 tour prominently at the top.

  • Booking engine: each cottage, activity, and restaurant now includes a small 360-icon - click it, and you’re inside.

  • Print & OOH: high-resolution stills from the tours appear in brochures, billboards, and seasonal campaigns.

  • Social media: Facebook 360 posts auto-rotate in newsfeeds, grabbing attention faster than any static photo.

  • Google My Business / Street View: every park is mapped with Poppr panoramas for local discovery.

In other words, the tours became the backbone of omnichannel marketing - one content engine powering every channel.

“Nothing is more responsive than a 360-degree experience,” we often say.
“It fits every screen, every device, every context - because it was born to move.”

From the smallest smartphone to the largest VR headset, the visuals adapt perfectly.
The experience feels tailor-made everywhere, which is why engagement metrics remain remarkably consistent across devices.

4.3 Quality That Outlives Trends

The true magic of immersive content is not how new it feels, but how long it stays relevant.
The oldest virtual tour, shot for Le Bois-aux-Daims in 2015, is now ten years old - yet it still looks freshly produced.
Most visitors couldn’t distinguish it from the tours we delivered this year.

That is no accident.
We design every project for a 20-year lifespan, combining ultra-high-resolution imagery with flexible architecture that allows easy design updates and analytics integration.
Where a conventional website might expire within five years, our tours continue to deliver value for two decades.

“Our virtual tours age like fine wine,” Steven smiles. “They mature, they gain character, but they never lose their shine.”

This longevity multiplies return on investment.
Each tour isn’t a campaign; it’s a long-term digital asset that keeps generating revenue, engagement, and brand trust year after year.

4.4 Return on Investment and Experience

Because the immersive network connects directly with Center Parcs’ booking modules, the impact is measurable.
Bookings influenced by virtual tours show higher average values and faster decision cycles.
Guests spend more time exploring options and end up choosing richer experiences - premium cottages, spa packages, adventure activities.

Add to that the cross-platform reach:
every 360 asset doubles as material for print, social media, and Google visibility.
One shoot feeds an entire ecosystem of content, dramatically lowering future production costs.

The result is a rare equation in marketing: costs decrease over time while impact keeps growing.

Financial analysts call it ROI; we prefer ROE - Return on Experience.
Because what we measure isn’t only revenue, but the moments of wonder that make people click “Book Now.”

4.5 A Living System

We continue to update all 28 virtual tours - new design layers, fresh code, upgraded analytics.
Each iteration learns from the previous one, ensuring that the entire system evolves as guests and technology evolve.
In that sense, the Center Parcs virtual-tour universe is not a set of static images; it’s a living organism - growing, breathing, adapting.

Takeaway:
The Center Parcs virtual-tour ecosystem proves that when immersive storytelling meets long-term thinking, a piece of content can live for twenty years - and still feel brand new.

Every 360° panorama Poppr creates is delivered in all major formats — perfectly adapted for Google, Facebook, websites and full Virtual Reality experiences.

5 What It Really Delivers for Center Parcs - The Numbers Behind the Magic

Numbers don’t usually make people dream, but these ones do.
Because behind every statistic lies a story - of families who felt something, clicked, and chose to book.

5.1 The Performance Table

Each percentage hides something emotional: more curiosity, more confidence, more yes.
Visitors linger longer, explore deeper, and spend more.
The tours don’t simply inform - they transform behaviour.

5.2 From Curiosity to Commitment

A longer session means more than a longer stay on-screen; it means that potential guests start to imagine themselves inside the experience.
When people virtually walk through a cottage or see the light move across a lake, they begin planning - not browsing.
That shift from curiosity to commitment explains why the conversion rate jumps by more than fifty percent.

And when imagination takes over, spending patterns change too.
Families who once booked a standard cottage now upgrade to premium options.
Couples choose spa packages.
Parents add breakfast deliveries and water-park tickets.
Every extra minute of immersion converts into tangible revenue.

5.3 Lower Friction, Higher Trust

Traditional photo galleries flatten a story; virtual tours open it.
By letting visitors explore at their own pace, doubts disappear:
Is the living-room big enough?
How far is the terrace from the lake?
Is the Aqua Mundo really that close?
Each answered question removes friction, turning anxiety into trust.

That trust explains the near-zero bounce rate.
People don’t leave because they find what they’re looking for - and more.

5.4 The Business Impact

When you translate these metrics into business language, the scale is staggering.
Across 28 parks and millions of yearly visitors, even small percentage shifts become monumental.
A 34 percent increase in average booking value across that volume means millions of euros in additional yearly revenue.
Multiply that by a product lifespan of twenty years, and you begin to see the real picture:
these tours aren’t campaigns - they’re assets that compound.

“The first tours we built a decade ago still perform like new,” says Steven.
“People would never guess that our 2015 content stands next to 2025 work - that’s how timeless quality behaves.”

5.5 Why Longevity Matters

A typical website lives five years before it feels outdated.
Our immersive environments are built for twenty.
That’s four times longer life, four times less redesign, four times more return.

Every technical update - new interface, new analytics, new mobile standards - can be applied without reshooting a single scene.
The architecture is modular, the visuals eternal.
This drastically reduces maintenance costs while keeping performance high.

Longevity isn’t only economic; it’s ecological.
By re-using the same ultra-high-resolution material for a decade or more, Center Parcs avoids countless extra productions, travel days, and carbon footprints.
Sustainability lives not just in the forest, but in the workflow.

5.6 Return on Investment and Return on Experience

The financial ROI is massive - likely hundreds of times the original investment.
But there’s another kind of return we value even more: ROE - Return on Experience.

Every second that a visitor spends wandering through the virtual forest strengthens emotional connection.
That connection translates into loyalty, repeat bookings, word-of-mouth, and brand love.

The virtual tours aren’t only about selling nights; they’re about creating belonging.
Families recognise their own values in the visuals - sustainability, togetherness, simplicity - and that recognition keeps them coming back.

“We’ve always said we measure success in smiles and seconds,” Steven adds.
“The smiles belong to the guests, the seconds to the analytics - and together they tell the same story.”

5.7 The Multiplying Effect

Each virtual tour powers multiple marketing layers:

  • The same assets become Facebook 360 posts with higher engagement.

  • Screenshots turn into brochures and billboards.

  • Panoramas feed Google Street View and SEO visibility.

  • VR versions inspire journalists and partners.

This recycling of quality creates an exponential loop: one production, infinite touchpoints, endless impact.

5.8 The Intangible Value

Finally, there’s something you can’t put in a table: prestige.
By pioneering immersive hospitality marketing at this scale, Center Parcs positioned itself as an industry innovator.
Awards followed, but more importantly, trust grew - internally and externally.
Employees felt proud; guests felt cared for.

In marketing terms, that’s priceless.

Takeaway:
For Center Parcs, Poppr’s immersive tours aren’t a cost centre - they’re a compounding asset delivering twenty years of measurable revenue, immeasurable trust, and a brand that people can literally walk into before they arrive.

6 A World Within a World - The Diversity and Strategy Behind Center Parcs

After a decade of filming and flying, one thing became clear to us: no two Center Parcs are ever the same.
Each park is a micro-world - a self-contained universe of nature, architecture, and rhythm - yet they all share the same heartbeat.

6.1 The Shape of Diversity

Across Europe, the brand stretches from seaside dunes to alpine forests.
You’ll find cottages that face the North Sea wind, and chalets that wake up to mountain snow.
Some parks are perfectly flat; others rise and fall along wooded hills where golf carts climb like tiny explorers.
You can ski in winter at one park, waterski in summer at another.

Despite that diversity, every site follows the same living geometry:
a tranquil lake or river at the centre, the glowing Market Dome beating like a heart, and around it a constellation of cottages linked by paths where families walk, cycle, or glide past in silence.

“That repeating rhythm - water, dome, cottages - is the DNA of Center Parcs,” says Steven.
“But the personality changes with every landscape. That’s what keeps it beautiful.”

For us as creators, that meant constant reinvention.
Each park demanded its own light palette, its own soundtrack of birds, laughter, and footsteps.
Every shoot became a new study in local character - coastal brightness in De Haan, deep-forest shade in Bispinger Heide, mirror-lake reflections in Le Lac d’Ailette.

6.2 Understanding the Guest Behind the Scene

Working across so many environments gave Poppr something few agencies ever gain: intimate knowledge of the Center Parcs audience.
We’ve seen how parents interact with the camera, how children run toward the lens, how couples slow down when they reach the spa.
That observational empathy turned into strategic insight.

We began to recognise behavioural patterns:
families linger longer in animal scenes, couples explore restaurants, teenagers jump straight to adventure zones.
Those insights now guide not only imagery but also the way Center Parcs structures its online journeys and booking flow.

6.3 From Creative Partner to Strategic Ally

Over time our relationship grew beyond production.
Because we understood both the brand and its guests, we were invited to co-create strategic tools that influence business decisions.
One highlight was the Park Comparison Tool - an interactive concept that let visitors compare all 28 parks by features, region, and atmosphere.

We designed the prototype: a clean interface, emotional photography, and simple filters that spoke the language of families rather than data analysts.
Center Parcs loved it so much they decided to develop it internally, expanding our concept into a full customer-facing application.

“That was a proud moment,” Steven recalls.
“It showed that they didn’t just trust us creatively - they trusted us strategically, with something core to how guests choose their holidays.”

6.4 A Brand of Endless Ideas

Our long collaboration has produced not only measurable results but also wild ideas - concepts that push hospitality marketing forward.
From interactive maps that show live energy consumption to story-driven onboarding screens that teach sustainability, we’ve imagined dozens of ways to make technology serve emotion.
Not all of them see daylight immediately, but every experiment keeps the brand fresh.

That openness is only possible because Center Parcs values exploration as much as execution.
They understand that innovation lives in the attempts as much as in the outcomes.

6.5 The Emotional Architecture

What ties all these worlds together isn’t technology; it’s feeling.
Every park, no matter how different, carries the same promise: togetherness surrounded by nature.
Our job is to translate that promise into pixels - to build an architecture of warmth.
That’s why each virtual tour, though meticulously engineered, still feels effortless and human.

When visitors move from one park to another, the transition feels natural - a continuous European landscape stitched together by emotion rather than code.
That cohesion is what turns a network of parks into one brand universe.

6.6 Why Diversity Drives Conversion

Diversity isn’t just aesthetic; it’s strategic.
Because guests can virtually travel from a forest in Germany to a beach in Belgium in a single click, they understand the full scale of the brand.
Choice becomes clarity.
And clarity converts.

The virtual tours help families compare atmospheres before comparing prices.
That emotional decision - which park feels right for us? - is the first step toward a booking.

7 Innovation That Plays - Gamification and Creative Experiments

Every long-term partnership needs oxygen - fresh ideas that keep both teams excited.
For us and Center Parcs Europe, innovation often started with a simple question: How can we make people smile while they explore?
The answer became a playground of interactive storytelling, digital Easter eggs and daring concepts that blurred the line between marketing and play.

7.1 When Exploration Becomes a Game

We believe that discovery should feel like a game.
So we began hiding secrets inside the virtual tours - tiny surprises that rewarded curiosity.
In the immersive map of De Vossemeren, for example, we placed the four Center Parcs mascots in unexpected corners: one peeking from behind a palm tree, another reflected in the window of the Market Dome.

The campaign rolled out across Belgium with one clear call to action:
Find the four mascots, leave your details, and win a weekend at Center Parcs.

The response was overwhelming.
Hundreds of families played the digital treasure hunt, sending waves of traffic through the tour.
Center Parcs collected hundreds of new email addresses and, more importantly, thousands of smiles.

“People didn’t even realise they were participating in a marketing campaign,” Steven laughs. “They were just having fun - and that’s the best kind of engagement.”

7.2 From Easter Eggs to Real Eggs

Encouraged by that success, we experimented further.
During Easter we filled the 360° worlds with colourful virtual eggs, linking the online hunt to real-world events inside the parks.
Families could start searching online, then continue the adventure in person during their holiday.
That digital-physical bridge turned a simple marketing activation into a multi-layered experience.

The same mechanics later inspired seasonal campaigns for other destinations - proof that play, when designed with care, can become a replicable marketing strategy.

7.3 Dreams That Haven’t Happened (Yet)

Not every idea made it beyond the concept board - but that’s part of our creative DNA.
Over the years we’ve imagined holographic projections on misty lakes, creating evening shows where characters appeared inside the fog.
We sketched plans for Augmented Reality check-out games, rewarding guests for sustainable behaviour - closing windows, emptying fridges, turning off lights.
And we even drafted a snow-resort scavenger hunt for a ski destination, where players could win virtual snowboards and goggles by spotting hidden objects inside the 360° landscape.

“Some ideas are too early, some too crazy,” Steven smiles, “but every one of them pushes the boundary of what a virtual experience can be.”

These unused ideas aren’t failures; they’re seeds.
Each experiment teaches us something - about technology, about storytelling, and about the human instinct to explore.

7.4 Why Gamification Works in Hospitality Marketing

Hospitality marketing has always relied on emotion, but emotion grows stronger when people participate.
Gamification transforms passive viewing into active belonging.
It invites visitors to spend time - to play, to compete, to share - and time spent is the purest form of engagement.

In analytics terms, that extra engagement time translates directly into higher booking intent.
But beyond the numbers, it creates affection - a sense that Center Parcs is not just a place you go to, but a brand that plays with you.

7.5 The Freedom to Imagine

None of this experimentation would have been possible without trust.
Center Parcs gave us the freedom to suggest wild ideas, to test them, and sometimes to let them rest.
That creative latitude turned the collaboration into a laboratory of joy.

Our philosophy is simple: innovation should always serve emotion.
Technology for its own sake gets old fast, but play - the universal language of families - never does.

“We don’t innovate to impress,” we often say. “We innovate to connect.”

7.6 From Play to Purpose

What began as playful interaction has deeper meaning.
These small experiments show that digital experiences can foster the same values that Center Parcs stands for offline - togetherness, curiosity, and gentle adventure.
In a world that often feels hurried, they remind guests to slow down and enjoy the journey, even inside a browser.

7.7 Looking Forward

We still keep a notebook of “wild ideas” - half-drawn sketches waiting for the right moment or the right technology.
Some may stay dreams; others will shape the next generation of immersive marketing.
What matters is that the creative fire never fades.

Takeaway:
Innovation thrives where play and purpose meet. When creativity is treated as curiosity rather than risk, every experiment - even the wild ones - adds a new heartbeat to the brand.

8 A Partnership of Trust - How Freedom and Faith Built Europe’s Largest Immersive Project

Every long-term collaboration rests on something deeper than contracts: trust.
From the very first day, Center Parcs didn’t just hire Poppr; they believed in us.

8.1 Freedom to Be Brave

In the early months, every deliverable was checked and discussed in detail.
Then something remarkable happened. They realised that our passion was genuine, our standards uncompromising.
From that moment on, they gave us what few clients ever dare to give - complete creative freedom.

They defined the goal - “make guests dream before they arrive” - and let us choose the road.
We could schedule extra shoot days, experiment with lighting, request additional models, even re-allocate budgets if it helped the result.
When we needed special access, it was arranged.
When we asked to try something new, they said yes.

“You can feel that freedom in every image,” Steven says. “When you’re trusted, you create differently - you take risks you’d never take under pressure.”

That freedom extended beyond creativity to logistics and hospitality.
Wherever we worked - France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium or Denmark - the teams welcomed us with warmth.
They gave us comfortable cottages, good meals, and open doors.
Every interaction reminded us that kindness is a productivity tool.

8.2 The Cowboy Experiment

Of course, trust also means daring to take responsibility.
One story still circulates inside both companies - the analytics rebellion.

Years ago, Poppr wanted to measure exactly how much the virtual tours contributed to bookings.
The data connections weren’t ready yet; approvals took time.
Steven felt it couldn’t wait.

So he did something unorthodox: he went ahead and built the entire tracking dashboard without an official purchase order.
He integrated Google Tag Manager and cross-site analytics, connecting every tour to the booking module to capture real conversion data.

When the Center Parcs contact in charge of analytics discovered it, she was understandably upset.

“You know you can’t do work without approval!” she said.
Steven nodded, smiled, and showed her the results.

The dashboard revealed what intuition had whispered for years:
virtual tours didn’t just inspire guests - they drove bookings at record levels.
Session durations, conversions, booking values - all far higher than anyone expected.

The reaction spread through the organisation.
The “unauthorised” project was not only approved retroactively; it was celebrated.
And that bold step deepened the partnership forever.

“That day proved that our relationship was built on trust, not paperwork,” Steven says. “Since then, we’ve been partners, not providers.”

8.3 Freedom to Experiment - and to Fail

Trust also meant freedom to fail - a luxury in most corporate environments.
At Le Trois Forêts, the largest park in the network, we proposed a wild idea: an Aerial Street View.
For two days we flew drones along the vast forest paths, mapping the park from the sky like a moving constellation.
Technically impressive, visually poetic - but not perfect.
We decided not to use it.

And that was fine.
No panic, no blame - just learning.

“The space to fail is what creates excellence,” Steven explains.
“You can see it in the result - when a client lets you breathe, the work breathes too.”

That culture of experimentation led to constant innovation: new navigation concepts, micro-interactions, data dashboards, cross-platform integrations.
Some ideas worked immediately, others waited for their moment.
All of them enriched the craft.

8.4 The Power of Mutual Respect

Over the years we’ve collaborated with hundreds of Center Parcs employees - from local park managers to senior executives - and the experience has been consistently human.
Every team we met was professional, curious, and kind.
Invoices were paid on time, communication stayed open, and problems were solved with smiles instead of stress.

For a creative company, that level of respect is fuel.
It keeps morale high and ideas flowing.
When both sides treat each other well, deadlines become adventures instead of obstacles.

8.5 Trust as a Business Strategy

From a marketing perspective, this partnership demonstrates something rare: trust scales faster than technology.
Because Center Parcs trusted Poppr to experiment, the project kept evolving organically - without costly resets or bureaucratic delays.
That efficiency saved months of work and produced years of value.

It’s an insight we now share with every new client: the shortest route to innovation is confidence.
When you hire experts, let them be experts.

8.6 A Relationship That Feels Like Home

After ten years, Center Parcs feels less like a client and more like family.
We’ve watched our own children grow up in their parks; Steven’s daughters, Lou-Elle and Zsa-Zsa, appear in several tours as models - tiny figures paddling in pools that millions of people now explore online.
We’ve laughed with staff, celebrated sunsets, and shared countless coffees under the Market Domes.

“That’s the beauty of long partnerships,” Steven reflects. “You start shooting pictures, and you end up shooting memories.”

8.7 What Trust Creates

The measurable results are impressive; the intangible ones are even greater.
Because of mutual trust, the tours radiate authenticity - you can sense the joy behind the lens.
That joy translates into higher engagement, stronger brand sentiment, and a digital product that feels unmistakably human.

Takeaway:
Trust is the invisible technology behind every masterpiece.
When freedom and faith replace control and fear, creativity stops being a service and becomes a shared adventure.

Below you find some 'making of' images.

9 Freedom to Create - Why Experimentation and Failure Fuel Perfection

Great design rarely emerges from certainty; it grows out of freedom - the space to try, to fail, and to try again.
Our decade-long collaboration with Center Parcs Europe has thrived on that very principle.
When you remove fear from the creative process, magic has room to happen.

9.1 The Culture of Trying

From the beginning, Center Parcs trusted us not only to deliver results but also to explore.
They gave us time, budgets, and encouragement to test ideas that might never see daylight.
That generosity has shaped some of our proudest breakthroughs - and a few unforgettable misfires.

One of the most ambitious experiments took place at Le Trois Forêts, the largest and most labyrinthine park in the network.
The terrain is so vast that even its golf carts are tuned for extra torque, climbing hills at surprising speed.
We decided to create an Aerial Street View: a Google-style 360° pathway captured entirely by drones.
For two days our pilots traced invisible roads through the sky, capturing kilometres of forest and architecture from above.

The footage was spectacular - technically flawless, artistically intriguing - but it didn’t feel right.
The emotion was missing.
So we did the hardest thing a creative team can do: we let it go.
We never published the experiment.

“And that,” Steven says, “was the point. You can only reach excellence when you’re allowed to fail on purpose.”

That abandoned idea became a compass for future work.
It taught us where immersion ends and over-engineering begins.
The lessons from those two drone-filled days shaped the navigation logic and camera choreography that now define our tours.

9.2 The Invisible Value of Failure

Failure, when framed correctly, becomes research.
Every missed attempt reveals a boundary - technical, emotional, logistical - and once you know the boundary, you can push it further.
Because Center Parcs let us experiment without penalty, we discovered efficiencies that later saved months of production time and thousands of euros.

That tolerance for experimentation also inspired internal innovation: our developers built modular code libraries, our photographers refined handheld HDR techniques, our designers perfected mobile motion cues that now feel effortless to users.

9.3 Freedom Inside the Framework

Creative freedom doesn’t mean chaos.
Within each project we follow a clear framework: safety, respect for guests, and brand coherence.
Inside that structure, everything else is open terrain.
We might test new lens profiles one day and a fresh UX transition the next.
If it fails, we analyse, archive, and move on - no drama, only learning.

That rhythm of controlled exploration has become the heartbeat of our collaboration.
It keeps the work alive and the people behind it inspired.

9.4 How Freedom Shows in the Result

Viewers may never know which experiments succeeded or failed, but they feel the freedom in the final product.
You see it in the way sunlight flares naturally through the domes, in the intuitive pacing of each click, in the subtle storytelling that feels unforced.
Freedom produces authenticity, and authenticity converts.

Analytics confirm what the heart already knows: when creativity is allowed to breathe, engagement soars.
Longer sessions, higher conversions, deeper brand affinity - they’re all side-effects of a process built on trust instead of fear.

9.5 Why Clients Benefit From Creative Risk

In hospitality marketing, experimentation isn’t indulgence; it’s insurance. Trends change, technologies evolve, but a team trained to adapt will never become obsolete. By supporting creative risk, Center Parcs ensured that their digital ecosystem keeps evolving without costly restarts.

That adaptability is now baked into the brand’s DNA - a quiet advantage that competitors can’t replicate.

“We believe that perfection isn’t a destination,” Steven notes.
“It’s the freedom to keep walking new paths.”

9.6 The Lesson

After thousands of panoramas, countless dawn shoots and a few glorious mistakes, one insight stands out:
perfection is not the absence of failure, but the presence of courage.
Courage to test, to learn, and to start again the next morning with fresh light over the lake.

Takeaway:
Freedom is the hidden architecture of excellence. When you give creators the right to experiment, even failure becomes progress - and every pixel carries the confidence of a team that was trusted to explore.

Two experimental shots. On the right, we took €8,000 worth of equipment into the Aqua Mundo without underwater housing — speed mattered more than comfort. The gear survived, and the shot was worth it. On the left, things ended less perfectly: our project managers didn’t wait for approval from the Aqua Mundo supervisor before going down the slide, only to land in a basin with barely any water. Let’s just say walking was painful that day. 😅

10 Behind the Scenes - The Stories You Don’t See in a Virtual Tour

Every image looks effortless when you see it online: perfect light, calm reflections, smiling faces.
What you don’t see are the moments in between - the laughter, the chaos, the coffee at dawn, the things that almost went wrong and somehow made the story better.
Here are a few of those moments - the heartbeats behind Europe’s largest virtual-tour project.

10.1 The Speaker on Fire - Le Bois-Francs (France)

During one shoot at Le Bois-Francs, Steven accidentally left a large Bluetooth speaker on the electric fireplace.
Later that night he brushed against the switch. The device began to smoulder; smoke filled the cottage.

“We woke up coughing, grabbed the speaker and threw it outside. It looked like a sci-fi meteor,” Steven laughs.

That week, maintenance had to replace all curtains and upholstery.
Apologies were exchanged, jokes were made.

“We’re so sorry, Le Bois-Francs… it won’t happen again.” 😅

10.2 The Empty Pool - Village Nature Paris (France)

At Village Nature Paris, eight crew members stood ready for the final day in the Aqua Mundo: cameras, models, lights - everything set.
Just as we prepared to shoot, the water level began to drop.
The park manager had accidentally triggered the pool-drain sequence.

We watched in disbelief as thousands of litres vanished.
Stopping it was impossible once it started.

“We just stood there, helpless, watching our reflection sink,” Steven recalls.

The day was lost - so we turned it into an evening of French wine, early laughter, and an unexpected lesson in patience. 🍷

10.3 The Sunset Championship - Lac d’Ailette (France)

Among our team, golden hour is religion.
At Lac d’Ailette, we turned it into sport - the Sunset Championship.
Each photographer raced across the park in a golf cart chasing the perfect flare of light.
Shortcuts were taken, rules ignored; tires slid across gravel and laughter echoed through the trees.

The winning image was chosen anonymously by Center Parcs; the prize, a bottle of rosé champagne.

“We nearly tipped a cart that night,” Steven says. “But we caught the light - and that’s what matters.”

Those photos remain some of the most used visuals in Center Parcs’ global campaigns.

10.4 The Police-Boat Mission - De Vossemeren (Belgium)

At De Vossemeren, flying drones was restricted, yet we needed an aerial shot of the island in the lake.
A speedboat was promised but broke down at the last minute.
Determined, Yvan and Steven loaded a 20-metre telescopic tripod - nearly 50 kg - onto a child-sized plastic police boat from the kids’ marina.

Two grown men, one wobbly boat, one enormous tripod.

“People on the shore were crying with laughter,” Steven remembers.
They paddled slowly across, set up the gear, captured the shot - and made it back dry.
Result: one spectacular panorama and a story that still makes the crew laugh.

10.5 The Goat Attack - Le Bois-Francs (France)

Shooting in the petting zoo seemed simple - until the animals decided to join the crew.
Yvan stood focused behind his tripod while goats, piglets, and chickens surrounded him like curious extras in a Kusturica film.
One goat chewed the camera strap; another nudged the legs of the tripod.

“I couldn’t stop laughing,” says Steven. “It was chaos, but the photos looked alive. You can feel the fun.”

10.6 The Deer That Came Too Late - Le Bois-aux-Daims (France)

Our very first Center Parcs project in 2015.
Yvan and Steven spent hours lying in the grass, waiting to capture real deer for Le Bois-aux-Daims - “the park of the deer.”
They bought apples, scattered oak leaves, whispered like hunters.
No deer appeared.

Exhausted, they packed up, loaded the car, turned around… and there he was:
a magnificent stag with two doe beside him, antlers glowing in the sunset.

“We just stared. We laughed, swore, and promised to come back.”
Later, they added deer digitally - but the real ones will always own that memory.

10.7 What These Stories Mean

Behind each scene - the smoke, the laughter, the golf carts and goats - lives the same truth: passion.
Perfection isn’t sterile; it’s human.
Every mistake became texture, every laugh became light in the final image.

These moments are why our collaboration with Center Parcs never feels like work.
They remind us that technology is only as beautiful as the people who carry it through forests at dawn.

“You can see it in the photos,” Steven says.
“They’re technically flawless, yes - but they also smile back at you.”

Takeaway:
Behind every polished panorama is a heartbeat.
It’s the laughter, the late nights, the small disasters and big friendships that make the virtual world feel alive.

11 Looking Ahead - The Future of Immersive Hospitality

Every story leads somewhere.
For us, the journey with Center Parcs Europe has never really ended; it keeps evolving with each new camera, each new idea, each sunrise over another lake.
As technology accelerates, we still begin every project the same way - by asking what people should feel.

11.1 From Vision to Voice

The foundation will stay the same: emotion first, technology second.
But the next chapter of virtual tours will add new dimensions - storytelling, voice and AI-guided exploration.
Imagine entering a tour and hearing a gentle narrator - an AI companion that knows your interests, guides you to the cottages that match your family size, whispers sustainability facts while you walk through the forest.
That future is closer than most think.

We’re already designing metadata structures and voice triggers that allow AI systems such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity to recognise scenes inside our tours.
Soon, when someone asks “show me the ten best water slides in Europe,” those answers will come directly from Poppr’s imagery.

“We believe the next revolution won’t be visual-it will be contextual,” Steven says. “AI will understand why an image matters.”

11.2 Immersion as the Interface

In the coming decade, screens will fade and environments will take over.
AR glasses, spatial computing and mixed-reality browsers will make immersive content the default interface for travel discovery.
Poppr’s twenty-year archive of ultra-high-resolution panoramas already fits that world: future-proof quality ready for devices that don’t yet exist.

Because each of our scenes is built as structured data, they can plug directly into these new ecosystems.
The work we did for Center Parcs is, in essence, a digital twin of Europe’s most beloved family parks - a foundation for the metaverse of hospitality.

11.3 The Human Constant

Technology will keep evolving, but the essence of hospitality will not: connection, care, curiosity.
Our role will always be to translate those feelings into pixels - to make innovation disappear behind emotion.
Whether guests explore through a phone, a headset or something yet to be invented, they should still feel the same warmth that started this story a decade ago.

We believe the future of marketing is not to sell places, but to let people belong to them before they arrive.

Takeaway:
The next era of immersive hospitality will blend AI, voice and emotion into one seamless journey-but its heart will remain human.

12 Thank you for all lessons learned

Ten years, twenty-eight parks, more than three thousand scenes - and still the same heartbeat: connection.
From the forests of Le Bois-aux-Daims to the beaches of De Haan, every pixel in the Center Parcs universe was built with the same intention - to make people feel at home before they even arrive.

12.1 What We Learned

We learned that technology can be tender.
That a lens can carry emotion.
That when creativity meets data, magic becomes measurable.

Center Parcs taught us that the best partnerships are living things: they breathe, they evolve, they trust.
Because of that trust we were free to invent, to fail, to laugh, and to create something that will last two decades - a digital experience as timeless as the forests it portrays.

“We believe that perfection is not the end of the journey,” Steven says. “It’s the journey itself - and the courage to keep exploring.”

The results speak louder than any claim:
+311 % longer sessions, +56 % higher conversions, +34 % higher booking value, and twenty years of continuous relevance.
But the true success lies in the smiles of guests who recognise their own stories in these virtual worlds.

12.2 What Comes Next

The work continues.
Every year new updates, new analytics, new ideas.
Soon, AI-guided tours will whisper context; AR will merge digital and natural light; voice will turn navigation into conversation.
Yet the essence will remain unchanged - warmth, family, wonder.

Poppr will keep doing what it does best: combining craft, creativity, and measurable impact.
Because we don’t just visualise places - we help people belong to them.
