Make Méribel stand out
The Office du Tourisme Méribel approached us to create a comprehensive digital experience that would showcase their breathtaking alpine destination to potential visitors worldwide. They needed a solution that would highlight the differences between Méribel's four villages and mountain areas, while providing an interactive and captivating introduction to this premier ski resort in the heart of the French Alps.
Our mission was to enhance Méribel's visibility as a winter destination, provide potential tourists with an immersive way to explore the area before planning their visit, and ultimately support the local tourism industry by encouraging bookings.
Capturing winter magic
We recognized that Méribel's unique appeal lies in both its stunning natural beauty and its exceptional ski infrastructure. Each location was strategically chosen to showcase both the stunning natural beauty of the Three Valleys ski area and the charming alpine villages that make Méribel special.
Our photography team prepared to brave the elements with specialized equipment, working closely with local guides and utilizing snowmobiles to access remote viewpoints that would deliver the most spectacular vistas. The timing was critical – we needed perfect conditions with fresh snow and clear, sunny skies to capture Méribel at its most magnificent.
Immersive alpine exploration
The platform is built with WebGL technology to ensure optimal performance across all devices.
The interface allows visitors to rotate freely and explore every angle of the mountain environment, from village centers to mountain peaks. Users can move through the valley between different scenes using interactive hotspots, allowing them to journey from one breathtaking location to the next with simple, intuitive controls optimized for both desktop and mobile devices
To serve Méribel's international audience, we implemented multilingual support, ensuring visitors from around the world can explore the virtual experience in their preferred language.
Each panorama features contextual information spots that provide insights about the location, nearby facilities, and points of interest. These informative elements enhance the experience without overwhelming the visual impact of the stunning mountain landscapes. A custom content management system allows Méribel's team to update these information points as needed.
A window to winter wonderland
The Méribel virtual tour lets prospective visitors explore the slopes, villages and mountain views before planning their stay. It brings the different locations together in one experience for the Office du Tourisme Méribel.
The virtual tour also makes the winter landscape available to explore outside the ski season, giving visitors a visual reference while planning a future trip.
